Travel advice and vaccinations

Blackfriars Medical Practice has a private travel clinic which runs on a Tuesday afternoon.  If you require an appointment please enquire at reception where one of the reception staff will book you in for a telephone consultation with practice nurse Wilson.  You will need to fill in a travel form detailing your holiday plans and this must be completed before an appointment can be given.  You will also be asked to pay a £25 fee. You must request an appointment at least 8 weeks before travel to ensure an appointment before departure.

Once Nurse Wilson has researched your destination and decided what vaccines and advice you need she will phone you at a prearranged time (this is your telephone consultation).  You will then be asked to attend an appointment at the surgery (if need be) to receive your vaccinations and any advise.

It should be noted that certain vaccines are available free but some travel vaccines require a private prescription (£15 payable to the Practice ) and you may also be charged at the chemist for certain vaccines and tablets (i.e. malaria tablets).

Clear guidance on charges is shown below.

If you do not wish to use our service I have noted some other options which may be of assistance to you below. You will have to phone them direct for details of charges.

Please note that the Practice will not give any travel advice without an appointment at the Travel Clinic.
